Terms of Use

Effective date: November 4, 2026

These terms cover your use of THE WORD, MADE CLEAR Study ("the app"), offered by Bravo Zulu Media ("we", "us") on study.thewordmadeclear.com and in the iPad, iPhone and Android apps. By using the app you agree to them. If you subscribe, our Subscription Terms also apply, and our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

Who owns the content

THE WORD, MADE CLEAR (TWMC) paraphrase of Scripture, its notes, headings, introductions, essays and study material, the TWMC translations of historical works in the Biblioteca and their introductions and notes, Discover, the commentary, the audio recordings, and the app's design and software are © 2026 by TWMC – Bravo Zulu Media. All rights reserved.

Some texts in the app are in the public domain, such as the King James Version, the Reina-Valera 1909, the Swahili Union Version and the original writings of the Biblioteca authors. They stay free for everyone; our translations, notes and arrangement of them are ours. Material from other publishers is used by permission, and their notices are on the Copyright & Permissions page in the app.

What you may do

• Read, study and listen in the app on your own devices, alone or with your family, church, small group or class.
• Share links to any page of the app.
• Quote the TWMC paraphrase, in print or online, up to 500 verses without asking us, as long as the verses you quote are not a complete book of the Bible and make up less than a quarter of the work they appear in.
• Quote short passages of our notes, essays or Biblioteca translations, up to 300 words from any one page, in teaching, preaching, reviews or study handouts.
• Show TWMC text on screens, slides, bulletins and handouts for worship or teaching, as long as they are not sold.

When you quote, please give this credit: "Scripture taken from THE WORD, MADE CLEAR (TWMC). © 2026 TWMC – Bravo Zulu Media. Used by permission." For anything larger, or for any use that is sold, please ask us first at support@thewordmadeclear.com. We are glad to help churches and ministries.

What you may not do

• Copy, download or save the app's content in bulk, or collect it with a script, scraper, crawler, bot or any other automated tool.
• Get around the subscription, the limits on how fast pages open, the sign-in, or any other protection in the app.
• Republish, sell or distribute the content, or put it into another app, website, book, database or product, beyond the quoting allowed above.
• Use the content to train, fine-tune or test artificial intelligence or machine-learning systems, or to build datasets for them.
• Share your account or sign-in with others, or let others use your subscription.
• Remove or change copyright notices, credits, or the marks that identify a downloaded copy.
• Copy, decompile or reverse engineer the app's software, or use the app or its content to build a competing service.
• Present our content as your own, or suggest that we endorse you or your work.
• Use the app in a way that breaks the law or harms others.

How we protect the content

To stop bulk copying, the app limits how quickly one reader can open pages, and we keep records of unusual use. Downloaded books carry a mark that identifies the account that bought them. If we believe these terms have been broken, we may pause or end access to the app, end a subscription as our Subscription Terms describe, and take any other steps the law allows.

If you find our content copied

If you see TWMC content copied somewhere it should not be, please tell us at support@thewordmadeclear.com, with a link. Copyright notices, including notices under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, can be sent to the same address.

The app as it is

The app's notes and essays are study helps. Where they interpret Scripture they say so, and they do not replace Scripture itself. We work to keep the app accurate and available, but we provide it as it is, without promises that it will always be free of errors or interruptions. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses that come from using the app, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms takes away rights the law where you live gives you and does not allow to be waived.

Other terms

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, except where the law where you live gives you protections that cannot be waived. Disputes that cannot be settled informally will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Spokane County, Washington.

If we change these terms, we will update this page and its date, and tell you before a significant change applies to you.
